Hi. I’m Becky Ward and I spend my time designing and conducting research projects.
Alongside my role as Research Director in the Centre for Homelessness Research and Practice, I run youthrive, a research consultancy dedicated to helping charities demonstrate their impact and raise unheard voices.
My lifelong vocation, with over 30 years’ experience in both the third sector and education, has been working with those under-served and marginalised, particularly young people.

Combining this experience with a PhD in Psychology focused on ADHD and enabling young people to thrive in school, I continue to seek out collaborators – experts by experience – who guide research to produce knowledge and evidence for change.
“It was a pleasure to collaborate with Becky. She was thoroughly professional and flexible in her approach to a demanding project brief, always receptive to new evidence while challenging us as client to “stick to what the data say” from her project research. We are now much better equipped to demonstrate the outcomes of our work in funding applications and engaging with stakeholders across multiple sectors. An impact evaluation well worth the investment.”
Roger Greene, Deputy CEO, AtaLoss
“Becky is personable, professional and organised, and it was a pleasure to work with her – her upbeat attitude and ability to draw thought and ideas out of people ensured that our meetings were positive and productive.”
Jo Tearle, Deputy Head Teacher, Shirley Junior School
“Working with Becky has been a real pleasure. Becky naturally engages with young people and uses her knowledge and experience to challenge young people to think bigger and to feel empowered to create change.”
Sarah Abrahams, Step by Step
“Becky Ward’s research and practice is generated by her commitment to young people and to offsetting disadvantage. She has a generous collaborative style, which means she empowers people to co-own the learning and resources they produce and then ensures this is shared more widely.”
